Let’s Talk Planters

When you plant flowers or house plants, are you a traditional planter person?? Or do you love to use unique items for your plants?

If you have been in the store or seen pics on our blog, you’ll know that I an a unique planter kind of girl!

A colorful thermos, a beautiful pottery pitcher, an old tin, or even in a mid-century canister with a broken lid, you find me planting!

Not only are you re-using an item, but you’re going to have the most unique plants in the neighborhood!

I love this idea – I am going to create one this spring!

What do you think of this as a planter?? Would you create one???

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE hand made pottery. You’ll find a lot of different pieces, and styles inside the store!

When we purchase hand made pottery, we’re also supporting an artist that creates beautiful things with their hands! I love to support hand made!

This tin sits on my patio – I LOVE the colors and the cactus looks great awesome and it adds color to the garden!

Would love to hear your comments and see pics of your unusual planters. We have lots of pottery, old tins and more to add creativity and color to your plants – both indoor and outdoor.

We are available by appointment at the store!

Have a great day and we can’t wait to see your plants!!

What’s Happening @FunkyVintiques

I hope this post is finding all of you and your family well. We are doing good at the Ranch – not a bad place to be when there is a stay at home order.

As we all know the state of Colorado is shut down with a stay at home order, excluding essentials.

With our physical store being closed for more than a month, we decided it was a good time to get our Etsy store going! Our store link is:  http://etsy.com/shop/funkyvintiques

We are busy taking pics and getting items ready to load up into the store. All items are available for shipping, but if you prefer we can schedule an appointment to pick up your items @ Lafayette Antiques, Lafayette, Co – where is our booth is located.

You would think that Ziggy would be doing a little better about his separation anxiety, but it seems to have gone through the roof.

What is a pug mom to do?

Calico has always been friendly since she showed up at the ranch, but she seems to have become a little more attached the last couple of weeks.

Oh, well – I have been spending extra time with all of the residents at the ranch! 🙂

Have a great day, and we’ll be updating more soon. If you have any questions about what we have available, just ask.

Easy Easter Table Decor

Easter is a wonderful time to spend with family and friends. I remember when the kids were little and we would gather at grandma & grandpa’s house for church and dinner.

The girls always loved coloring eggs for the Easter bunny to hide. As they got older we would head to the buttes and grandpa would bbq and we would ride horses.

I am a simple girl and LOVE simple decorating. Below are a couple of ideas using rustic and natural items you can find in our store.

Such a simple table center piece – reclaimed wood box and with flowers and eggs, and the colors are energizing.

Here is an adorable bunny with some greenery inside a cloche. So simple and yet so adorable.

We would love to see how you use simple, rustic, and natural items in your decorating!

Have an awesome day!

Changes are coming to Funky Vintiques

It seems like forever that I have updated our website / blog. Many things are going on in my business world lately, and I have just neglected Funky Vintiques.

That is changing today! There will be a lot of new changes coming in this year, and I am extremely excited about where life is taking me!

Our store will be moving by the end of this year, and we’ll be starting to do Barn Sales, Markets, and really ramping up our Etsy store!

In the next few months we’ll be downsizing items that we might not want to move or think will fit with our barn sales or markets we are planning next spring!

Thanks for sticking by us and we’ll be updating our website much more often, and we’ll see you soon.
