We all have some amazing holiday traditions that we love that reminds of us of days gone by.
Some that I remember when I was a kid is that we always went to our grandparents house. Grandma always made the best food in the world. We would sit around the fireplace and grandpa would sleep in his chair after an early morning chores.
We would talk and giggle, watch some tv, and then we would be able to open presents. Then we got to go out with grandpa and help with afternoon chores.
Oh, one other thing I remember what grandma always had was See’s candy. She would have several boxes of all different sizes. Grandma’s favorite and everyone would bring her a box!!
When I became a new mother, we still went to grandma’s and grandpa’s house for Christmas. Still some of my favorite memories! When the girls were little I loved to get them matching Christmas jammies. They always got them Christmas Eve so they were ready for Santa in the morning.
My girls and I always made cookies, and fudge. Our chocolate chip cookies were never as good as grandma’s, but we tried. 🙂 Jennifer is staying with us for a while, so guess what we are going to do this year – yep, we’re going to make fudge!!
The last 18 years John always wrote a letter to santa to go with the milk, cookies & carrots for the reindeer. Guess what Santa always left John a letter also. John always loved to hear what Santa had to say each year.
Let us know some of your favorite traditions, and maybe we all can create some new ones.
Have an awesome day!
