Hello and Happy January

Man it has been a while since I have updated our website/blog. I hope you’re all doing well. We are plugging away here in Colorado. We finally received a couple of good snow storms at the ranch and looking to get another couple in the next week or so.

After moving the store last year, I was totally exhausted, and the shop @ the house is full. To fix that problem I acquired another container to move to move stuff, which didn’t happen last year as it took a while to find a container for sale. This is my project for spring!

But I did get a couple of antique shows attended last year. The Idaho show was great, sold lots, and had a great time with my sister and grand daughter. Maria (gd) and I also did one in November, in Estes Park, which was a total bust. Promoter didn’t market too well, was half empty, and looked more like a craft show than an antique show.

We have applied to some new ones for this year, and getting excited about doing a little traveling. Need to find a few more to attend. I am disappointed that the one in Colorado Springs has been cancelled. We enjoyed this one last time we attended.

As many know I created an office space in the shop/pole barn we built, but my daughter is living in there with her dogs, so I recently created a new listing space in the house. Pictures to come soon as I get it a little more organized.

I have been working  daily on our Esty store and getting more smalls added. Check it out @ https://etsy.com/shop/FunkyVintiques

Check out one of my new co-workers! Say “hello” to Calico

Have an awesome day.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with much excitement and sadness that I announce the future path for Lafayette Antiques & Home Décor.

A lot of you know that we live on 40 acres east of Lafayette. About 3 years ago we built a pole barn with the intent of doing barn sales at some point in my future.

In those 3 years since the barn was built, I have been filling it full of treasures, and enjoying the peacefulness of country living (on my weekends). hahaha

With the shutdown of our economy, and the store being closed for 2 months gave me some time to reflect. I also realized that I was getting burned out working 6 days a week with 2-hour drive daily.

So, after much thought and anguish – I have decided that it is time to move the store. Lafayette Antiques last day in Lafayette will be 1/31/21.

Between now and then we will be having sales to move items that do not fit our barn sales theme.

We do not have a first barn sale date scheduled yet, as I have a lot of work to move the store and organize the barn for the sale.

This is not goodbye – this is, we will see you soon, whether it is at a barn sale, antique show, or just in town saying “hi”

I will miss my daily interaction with customers, you all have been the best, and I could not have done this without all of you!

I will not be gone, just in a different location, I will just be a call, email, or text away! Or at a show near you! 😊

Nancie, Winston & Ziggy

Using Old Ladders in the Garden

Old primitives tell a stories, and make such statements. I would love to know each of their stories.

Creating new stories for old primitives is such a wonderful experience, and make great additions to your home and garden!

We have snow again, but I have been thinking of how and where I want to create a new flower area this spring. I just need it to get here! hahaha I know everyone else is in the same boat! So today I am sharing some old ladders for the garden area to help get your creative juices flowing.

Isn’t this sweet – lots of color, an old iron wagon wheel and birdhouses!

This is also sweet – lots of color, another old iron wagon wheel and look at those unique planters – an old boot!

We have some old primitive ladders at the store, and they are available for pick up by appointment!!

WE would love to see how you have used old primitive ladders in your garden!

Have a great day!

Happy Thursday!

I hope this post finds you all happy and healthy. As of right now the store is closed until April 26th. Hopefully we’ll get the stay-at-home order lifted. I don’t know about you, but I miss the store and customers.

I don’t know if you have noticed yet, but we have been working on our on-line stores! We are still adding to them, and yes we do have local pick up available.

We would love to know what you think of our on-line stores and what else you would like to see in them!

You will notice that our blog is looking a lot different recently. We are setting up a store right here so you can purchase and keep up with what is going on at the store. No new website addresses to learn – win win
