A New Booth Close to Home: Opening This Friday – This Friday, a new store is opening right here in my hometown—and I’m excited to be part of it.
After spending the last several days cleaning, pricing, hauling, arranging, and rearranging, my new booth is ready for its first day at Show Me Twice Indoor Flea Market in Keenesburg.
Is it completely finished? Probably not.
But it is full of vintage pieces I love, and it feels good to see them out of the barn and ready for a new beginning.
A New Opportunity Close to Home
One of the things I’m most excited about is simply having a booth close to home.
It gives me another opportunity to get the vintage pieces I have been uncovering in the barn in front of customers. And with a barn full of inventory, that is a very good thing.
There are still plenty of boxes to open and shelves to sort through, but this new booth gives me a place to start moving some of those treasures back out into the world.
What I Brought First
Since this was the beginning, I started with some of the easier-to-reach pieces from the barn.
I brought furniture, trunks, old tools, primitive galvanized pieces, license plates, and a few fun cookie jars. I wanted the booth to have a good mix right from the start—larger pieces that help fill the space, along with smaller vintage finds that make people want to slow down and look around.
There are old coffee tins, tools, lanterns, kitchen pieces, pottery, and little unexpected things tucked throughout the booth.
Those are always some of my favorite kinds of displays to create. I like when people can spot something they remember from childhood, find a useful old piece for their home, or come across an item they did not even know they were looking for.
Just the Beginning
This booth is as finished as it is going to be for opening day, but I already have more pieces waiting to come in next week.
That is one of the things I love about antique booths—they are always changing. Things sell, new pieces come in, displays get moved around, and every visit can feel a little different.
For now, I’m just happy to have another little space for the vintage pieces that have been waiting in my barn.
