Things I Always Pick Up (Even When I Don’t Need Them)

There are certain things I don’t even think twice about anymore. I’ll tell myself I don’t need anything… that I’m just looking… that I’m only there to drop something off or straighten up the booth.

And then I spot one of those things. And just like that… it’s coming home with me.

✧ The Ones I Always Reach For

Over time, I’ve noticed a pattern. There are a handful of pieces I’m drawn to again and again — not because I need them, but because they always seem to carry something a little extra with them.

✔   Old Keys

There’s just something about them.  The weight, the patina, the fact that they once opened something important… even if we’ll never know what.

They’re small, simple, and easy to overlook — but they always feel like they hold a story.  And I can never seem to leave them behind.

✔  Vintage Linens & Quilts

Soft, worn, and usually a little imperfect. These are the pieces that feel like they’ve been part of everyday life — folded, used, washed, and kept.

Even the stains and loose threads tell part of the story. And somehow… they always find a place.

✔  Stoneware & Pottery

This is one I try to resist… and usually fail. The weight of it. The neutral tones. The way it fits into just about any space without trying too hard. It’s simple, but never boring.

✔  Galvanized Buckets
These are probably the easiest to justify… Because they’re actually useful. But even beyond that, they bring that farmhouse, lived-in feel that I’m always drawn to.

Plants, blankets, seasonal displays — they always work.

✧ A Little Pattern I’ve Noticed

None of these are flashy. None of them are “must-have” pieces. But they all have something in common:

They feel like they’ve been part of a life. And I think that’s what keeps pulling me back to them.

I’m guessing you have a few things like this too. The kind of pieces you always seem to notice… even when you’re not planning to buy anything.

I’d love to hear what yours are 🤍

Some of these types of pieces show up in the booth and shop from time to time — always a little different, but always carrying that same feel.
