Hello and Happy January

Man it has been a while since I have updated our website/blog. I hope you’re all doing well. We are plugging away here in Colorado. We finally received a couple of good snow storms at the ranch and looking to get another couple in the next week or so.

After moving the store last year, I was totally exhausted, and the shop @ the house is full. To fix that problem I acquired another container to move to move stuff, which didn’t happen last year as it took a while to find a container for sale. This is my project for spring!

But I did get a couple of antique shows attended last year. The Idaho show was great, sold lots, and had a great time with my sister and grand daughter. Maria (gd) and I also did one in November, in Estes Park, which was a total bust. Promoter didn’t market too well, was half empty, and looked more like a craft show than an antique show.

We have applied to some new ones for this year, and getting excited about doing a little traveling. Need to find a few more to attend. I am disappointed that the one in Colorado Springs has been cancelled. We enjoyed this one last time we attended.

As many know I created an office space in the shop/pole barn we built, but my daughter is living in there with her dogs, so I recently created a new listing space in the house. Pictures to come soon as I get it a little more organized.

I have been working  daily on our Esty store and getting more smalls added. Check it out @ https://etsy.com/shop/FunkyVintiques

Check out one of my new co-workers! Say “hello” to Calico

Have an awesome day.

Happy Thanksgiving

What do you miss most about Thanksgivings past?

Me ~ I miss my dinner at my grandparents, with the enire family. I miss my grandmother & mother’s stuffing (dressing) ~ haven’t had any as good since I last cooked a turkey, but my stuffing wasn’t nearly as good as theirs.

I also miss Tommy and Claudia. They took us into their family every Thanksgiving and it was just awesome to be part of that.

What do you love most about Thanksgiving today?

Me ~ The quiet relaxing day with my family. We haven’t had a big dinner at home for a while. We went to friends for 15 years until they both passed. Now we just spend a quiet day at home, and last year we went to Country Buffet for dinner. It was different, but that is exactly what I needed!

This Thanksgiving ~ remember to love the ones close to you. You never know when you will loose one of them!

Happy Turkey Day~

Pic of John @ Gallup

Below is a picture of John in Gallup, NM at the National Jr. High School Rodeo Finals. I am very proud of my baby! (yes, I know he doesn’t look like a baby any more)

John ended up 32nd (out of approx 144 kids) in the first go round, and didn’t have any luck with his second steer.

This is the entire Colorado Team – They are a great bunch of kids! We are proud of all of them!

We are back home with some great memories of our first National Jr High School Rodeo Finals. Next year they will be held in Ohio (I think). Lots of work between now and then.

Have a great day!

Road to Gallup

John had his first run today at the National Jr. High School Rodeo Finals – his run was 4.4 ~ which is great. At the moment he is sitting in 6th place. I am not sure how many shoot doggers there are, but there are many – could be close to 200 kids in each event.

The boys are back at Red Rock Park, Gallup, NM, for the third performance and mom is relaxing in the hotel room with Haley d’Pug & Bear. We are watching HGTV, and getting some website work done.

@ The Ranch

Well school is almost out. John’s last day is tomorrow. He and hubby have been traveling all over Colorado the last few weekends for Jr. High School Rodeo’s. This weekend is the Colorado State Finals, which means that this John’s last rodeo before National Jr. High School Rodeo Finals in June (spring season).

John has been doing a great job, earning checks & points to head to Gallup, NM next month. I am looking forward to a road trip. I am in NEED of a road trip!

John has also been spending a lot of time with Penn Rae – aka – Penny. They really are getting along great and bonding well. She sure has pretty red freckles now that the sun is shining in Colorado.

I hope you all have a great summer with the kids. I will be posting some great info and ideas for the summer with kids.

Have a great day!
